Extremely high prices! Store is chaotic and sometimes pretty dirty. This is not the “Savers” of years ago, and it makes me so sad. I commend you if you can find any one item of clothing under 9 bucks. Worse than trying to weed through the clearance section in a big box store- not a lot of quality, not a lot of value. There have been a few things here and there that I have picked up for home decor, Halloween, etc- but as far as having a “go to” thrift store for your everyday needs, or just for fun (the way thrifting used to be!!), Savers ends up being stressful. Also, no helpful employees. Like a lot of places, employees will do anything to avoid having to help a customer. Pretty unreal! Who here remembers the good old days when the combination of strong customer service ethics + strong fair pricing ethics (aren’t thrift stores also called “charity shops” in some areas? Isn’t that what they were supposed to be about- making everyday items affordable for people who could not otherwise afford them??) made thrifting a thrill and a joy?? I dearly miss those days! Now things are equally unaffordable no matter where you go! It doesn’t make a whole lot of sense to me, you would think that overhead would be comparatively low considering they receive their inventory for nothing! Customers- what can we do about this, if anything?? I feel there must be something we can do before we loose thrifting forever. Hope everyone is able to make ends meet somehow during the intense economic times we are living through, God bless!
Surprised at how expensive some items are, particularly clothes.
But what really got me is today the (assuming a manager) changed the price of two items higher AS I was wanting to purchase! She wouldn't honor the stickers that were on them and claimed this happens. I understand that can happen; however, honor the current sticker price and don't change the price to more than twice the amount AT THE SAME TIME I'm wanting to purchase.
Best thrift store I’ve been to since moving up to Minnesota! Huge selection, well organized, good quality brands. I got three pairs of leather shoes in fantastic shape (one of them being tall leather boots!), a little Italian leather purse, and a high quality laptop bag, all for a total of $35! Can’t wait to go back ♥️
I love Saver but the price of things should be cheaper cuz it's a thrift store..
Disappointing. We used to love going to Savers. Clothing selection was great, and you could find lots of cool art and trinkets. Used to bring our stuff here. It has gone downhill big-time in the last few years. Goodwill is our go-to now.
#1 no dressing rooms. Most clothes you can’t reliably or appropriately try on in the middle of a store. So you have to buy something by looks, take it home and try it on, and then your only option is to exchange it within 14 days if it doesn’t work (which is often).
#2 selection. Their selection is awful nowadays . We used to find cool decor and paintings all the time. Nothing in the last year. Clothing is pitiful too. I got caught in a return loop because I bought things initially to try on that didn’t fit, then I exchanged for other things that didn’t fit, then I went back for another exchange but they don’t have a single pair of shorts or dress shirts in my size (average size) that fits and doesn’t have stains or rips.
#3 no returns. I get it, this is a thrift store. But when you have no dressing rooms, a bad selection, and even a stringent exchange policy - it feels more just like a casino taking your money than a retail store. We bought a thermos with straw, take it home, find out there is holes in the straw, it doesn’t suck, and the thermos leaks. There was no way to try it out in the store, and we can’t return it. So we literally just paid Savers for a piece of trash. That has happened on more than one occasion - buying any electrical device is a gamble.
#4 prices. Everything is incredible expensive here now. A pair of pants and a nice shirt could cost you as much as $20-30. I could get that brand new from Walmart for only a few bucks more. So what’s the point? Where is all this money going that they’re getting from their 100% free merchandise that they’re up selling at higher-than-expected prices? The store looks awful - it’s definitely not being put into that.
In summary, Savers gladly takes all your charity donations, but they make little effort to accommodate you as a customer. They sell some broken/useless things and won’t let you return. Clothing selection is poor and overpriced, and you can’t try on clothes or return them after trying on at home (only exchange). We decided we have no reason to bring our donations here or go shopping anymore.
Employees were wonderful and friendly. I did find some wonderful treasures as well. Found a BLACK Tignanello purse in almost perfect condition for 8.00. 😁👜👛 …
at times when i donate here, i ride a Schwinn stingray chopper, when i have Only 1 or 2 objects that could fit into a backpack to donate car after car after cars drivers having seen me budged ahead of me, so, i ended up giving up, after waiting an eternity walked in between 2 vehicles (i had already been there before them) put my pair of Adidas shin guards into a bin.
I've visited multiple times and never found a thing worth the price. It's used stuff people.
